Festival of Prints Apothecary Accents Card

Here is another Jill Olsen's card I received recently and I instantly LOVED it.  So I decided to share this card with my Club gals this month and they loved it too.

I absolutely love the idea of using skinny (1/2" wide) strips of various DSP designs and then die cut with one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  It's a great way to use up scraps of paper too.  In my workshops we added the Gold Glow Smooch Spritz to the embossed Cherry Cobbler background piece.

You can find the Festival of Prints DSP Stack in the Holiday Catalog.  But hurry it's only available through January 2, 2013.

Top Note Elf Shoe Card

Happy Brrrr Monday!  It's snowing on and off here this morning.  The view from my studio to my yard is absolutely pretty.  There is an eagle flying over between our two ponds back and forth looking for some breakfast.  I am hoping he won't get any ducks....  We only have one duck lives here and she now has some visitors.  Please leave them alone.....

Isn't this card adorable?  It was one of the projects we did in my Ink Pad Club this month.  I LOVE this Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack!  I think it's an amazing value - has 48 sheets (4-1/2" x 6-1/2") in each pad, 4 each of 12 double-sided designs.  The colors are beautiful and designs are versatile.  It's my favorite item in the Holiday Catalog!!!  It's only available till January 2, 2013.

In my monthly club workshops this month, we used various Stampin' Around Wheels which I hadn't done in a long time and the girls seemed to like the challenge.  For this card in the background we used the Jolly Jingles Jumbo Wheel (#120864) which is my favorite one of all!!!

Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful day!!!

Floral Frames Framelits Tote

Happy Monday!!!  Here's another project we did in my Big Shot workshop this month.  Isn't it adorable?  It's so pretty and makes a great gift!!!

I die cut the Snow Festival DSP (I love this DSP collection!!!) using the largest die of the Floral Frames Framelits and cut off the bottom a little bit to make it flat.  You will need two pieces of any patterned paper for the front and back of your tote.  The base of the tote is a piece of card stock (not shown in the photo).  I cut a piece of Baja Breeze card stock to 4-1/4" x 10" and scored as follows:
  • on the 10" side - scored at 1/2", 4-1/4", 5-1/4" and 9"
  • on the 4-1/4" side - scored at 1"
You will need to cut off one corner where the 1/2" and 1" score lines meet. You also need to cut the bottom sections up to the 1" score line.

I used the Bold Snowflake Single Stamp (#132338, available till Jan. 2) and the Mixed Medley Hostess Stamp Set to decorate the front of my tote.  The Silver Glimmer Snowflake die cut and the rosette add an extra touch.

My red rosette was created using the Designer Rosette Bigz Die.  If you don't have the die, you can make it by scoring a strip of paper.  I scored every 1/4" of paper to make the green rosette shown above.  Using the Designer Rosette Die makes it super easy because it cuts and scores at the same time and has two pretty edge designs which eliminate punching the edge of paper if you like to have a decorative edge.

Owl Occasions Happy Birthday Card

Happy Friday Stampers!!!  Isn't this card adorable?  I received it from my mega upline Jill Olsen, Utah several weeks ago and just realized I hadn't shared it on my blog yet.  I just love how she added pieces of the new Champagne Glimmer Paper at the top left and bottom right corners.  Too cool!!!

I also like the idea that she used this stamp set for a birthday card.  I do have many December birthdays in my family and especially it will be perfect for my niece Rachael.  But there is a small problem - I don't have the stamp set!!!  I guess I will have to get it?!!!!

Floral Frames Framelits Card - Snowflake Soiree

Hi there!  I had a fun night of Big Shot class last night.  Thank you to those ladies who came to my workshop.  It was fabulous!!!

This card was one of our projects we did.  Isn't it so beautiful???  I love the color combination - Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand and Whisper White.  To be honest with you I don't use Sahara Sand so much but this card made me think that I really need to use it more often!  It's absolutely beautiful with Baja Breeze!!!

Here are the pictures of my two samples.  Can you see the difference between these?  The silver glimmer snowflake die-cut on the left is colored with Baja Breeze ink using Baja Breeze refill and a sponge dauber (you can do this with any color of your choice!).  Look at the close-up photo below.  It's so pretty!!!

The largest snowflake image is stamped on one of the Floral Frames Framelits.  This is one of the techniques I showed  in class last night.  Normally we stamp an image and then die cut but in this case we die cut the same piece TWICE and stamp later.
Now you know what I mean, right?  First you run a piece of Whisper White card stock using the shape shown above on your Big Shot (look at the die cut on the right above).  Then you need to place the same die over your die-cut as shown above and run it through again.  The largest snowflake stamp image from the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set will nicely fit in the scallop shape.
Here are the measurements for the card:
  • Sahara Sand - 4-1/4" x 5 1/2" (back panel), 2-1/2" x 5-1/4"
  • Whisper White - 5-3/8" x 8-1/4", scored at 4-1/8", and scrap for stamping
  • Baja Breeze - 1" x 5-3/8"
  • Silver Glimmer Paper - 1/2" x 5-3/8" and 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" for snowflake die-cut
Other Supplies for the card:
  • Stamps - Snowflake Soiree (Holiday Catalog)
  • Ink - Sahara Sand, Baja Breeze, Baja Breeze ink refill
  • Tools and Accessories - 3/4" Circle, Sponge Daubers, Basic Rhinestones, Baja Breeze Seam Binding
  • Big Shot - Floral Frames Framelits, Large Scallop Edgelits, Delicate Designs Embossing Folders
Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a great day!!!

I was planning to post my new project today but have to wait till tomorrow.....I am buried with some "over due" paperwork today.   Not happy with myself.....  But I am also feeling lucky!  I am done with our family Christmas cards this year - it's not even December yet!!!  Let me tell you about our Christmas card tradition......  Before I became a SU demonstrator, my husband and I picked the best four photos of the year for our Christmas cards and made them on our computer.  Ever since I became a SU demonstrator, this tradition sort of stopped and Larry has not been happy with me.  So about a week ago I told him about my plan on this year's Christmas cards, he was very skeptical.  I started working from scratch using MDS 2 and within a few hours I was done.   I ordered them late last night through our professional printing service.   During the order process, I found out I could get the $25 hostess dollars by adding $12 worth of other items.  So I added 2 packs of card stock which I really needed to order anyway.  I totally forgot that MDS purchases qualify for the hostess benefits!!!  AND I even got the demonstrator discounts and I will get additional earnings (it's called "volume rebates) later too.  WOW!!!  It's too good to be true.  The best part is I didn't have to print our Christmas cards this year and they will come "scored" with envelopes from the professional printing service!!!  Let me tell you Larry is happy too!!!  I can't wait to get my order.....!!!

Speaking of the MDS, Stampin' Up! recommends that you submit your holiday print products by December 6th for regular shipping, December 10th for Second-Day Air, and December 11th for Next-Day Air to receive them by December 24th.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful day!!!
