Convention Share

Happy Monday, Stampers!  I finally had a chance to go through my photos of convention.  This year's convention was super special one for me.  About three months ago Karen Hauley, Business Development Specialist from Stampin' Up!, asked Jill Hilliard from Pennsylvania, Cynthia Millan from Ottawa and myself to be part of  her demonstrator panel to help present a class called "I am Earning an Incentive Trip".  Over the last few months we corresponded mainly through emails and had rehearsals over the phone.  Since I had never met them before, I could only recognize them by their voice.  So when I finally met them at Convention, I was so thrilled to get to know them better.  Let me tell you they are super nice and so talented!!!

Working through this class I had an opportunity to meet my secret admirers Bonnie Thurber and Brian Pilling from the corporate office along with Alan and Scott, Producer/Sound Specialist.  They were at all of our rehearsals and gave us their suggestions and tips which helped us tremendously.

Karen had a surprise gift for us.  She made this gorgeous journal for us using the My Digital Studio and she even included part of our script in the background. How cool is that!!!

There was one more surprise inside this journal.  Can you guess?  The inside cover included a personal note written to each of us by Shelli Gardner, Co-Founder/CEO of Stampin' Up!  Love it!!!

I thank Karen for giving me this incredible opportunity and will treasure this amazing experience and friendship for the rest of my life!  I can't wait to see Jill and Cynthia again on the Fiji Incentive Trip.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a great day!

MDS 2 Card and Holiday Open House

Happy Friday, Stampers!  I had so much fun creating this MDS 2 card yesterday.  I took a MDS (My Digital Studio) class at Convention and got to play the new MDS 2 there.  It was an optional evening class and I didn't know they were going to let us try this not-yet-released version of MDS.  There are tons of new "must-have" features loaded and I can't wait to update my original MDS.  Stay tuned for more updates on this MDS 2.....

This card is actually an invitation card to my Holiday Open House which is scheduled on Sunday, August 5th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.  My Open House is open to ANYONE (you don't have to receive an invitation from me to come) so please join us for this fun day of creating beautiful projects to start off the holiday season.

Papillon Potpourri Thanks Card

Hi Stampers!  This card was one of the projects we made at my Card Clubs this month.  I LOVE this  "Papillon Potpourri" stamp set!!!  I was so impressed how the butterfly image came alive when I first stamped using our new "Firm Foam" ink pads.  What a difference!

Click HERE to learn more about our new "Firm Foam" ink pads.

Did you know there is a brand-new butterfly punch in our new catalog?  It coordinates with one of the stamp images from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set (see the green butterfly).  I stamped one butterfly in Gumball Green right above the Midnight Muse butterfly.  And then stamped another one on a Whisper White scrap piece and punched it out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch (127526).  I used Mini Glue Dots to adhere the butterfly.  I also embellished it with the Vintage Faceted Designer Button and Linen Thread.

There is another brand-new punch called "Little Labels Punch Pack" in our new catalog.  This one is a set of three small punches and coordinates with the "Lovely Little Labels" Stamp Set.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful day!!!

Easy Events Happy Birthday Card

Here's a card I created a few months ago trying to see what color would coordinate with one of the new In Color "Summer Starfruit".  I really like this combo - Pool Party and Summer Starfruit.

Have you tried our Linen Thread?  It's my favorite accessory.  I've noticed that there are many projects with Linen Thread in our new catalog.

That's it for today.  Sorry for a short post.  I have to take my boys to a football camp before my Card Club workshop this morning.  I'm so excited my youngest is going to "try" football!!!  I'm not sure if he is going to like it though.  It may be overwhelming for a 6 year-old boy.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day!

Elegant Butterfly Punch Card

Hi Stampers!  I'm back from the amazing Stampin' Up! Convention 2012 in Salt Lake City.  What a fabulous time I had there.  I took over 500 photos and am looking forward to sharing some of them with you this week.

I have a quick post today because I have 7 boxes of SU orders waiting to be opened and sorted this morning.  I also have my Tuesday Card Club workshop tonight and Wed card club tomorrow morning.  It will be a marathon for me.

This card was supposed to be my swap card for the Convention 2012 but didn't have time to make any.  I love the new Elegant Butterfly Punch.

Here is a video from the Convention 2012.  I hope you will enjoy it.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful day!

Quick Card - Reason to Smile Take 3

Hi Stampers!  I have a quick card to share with you today using the Reason to Smile stamp set.  It's so simple and so pretty.  I really like the color combination (Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple and Very Vanilla).

Can you see I embossed the Primrose Petals card stock with two different embossing folders (Fancy Fan and Delicate Designs Folders)?  The new Stitched Satin Ribbon adds an extra beauty to the card.

This card is very quick and easy but it does have some detailed touch.  I love the new "Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die (127005)" and it coordinates with one of the Essentials Paper-Piercing templates.

That's it today, Stampers!  I'm headed to Stampin' Up! Convention in Salt Lake City this morning and still have a few items to pack in my suitcase.  I hope to post some photos from Convention here on my blog this week, so come back soon!

Reason to Smile - Thank You Card

Hi Stampers!  I finally had a fun time to create cards in my studio yesterday - I was a very happy girl!!!  I had been wanting to use the exclusive Reason to Smile stamp set since I got it early June but had to leave for Canada unexpectedly to rescue my sister for a few weeks so I had to wait.  I'm glad though that I had a wonderful "sister" time with her.  I already miss her......

Back to the Reason to Smile set, I was going to CASE the Stampin' Up!'s sample card but didn't feel "connected" with it.  I felt there was something missing with my card.  So I added a decorative die-cut edge with one of the Finishing Touches Edgelits and a piece of Pool Party strip to show off the edge.  Isn't it pretty?

After that I wanted to off-set with another piece of Pool Party on the left of my card front so I embossed a strip of Pool Party card stock with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.

I stamped the outline flower image in three colors (Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Tangerine Tango) and the sentiment in Early Espresso on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.

When making this card, I had to remind myself that it had to be simple and quick.  Sometimes I get carried away and add more embellishments to my project.  It is a challenge for me to keep it simple!!!

Well I am happy with my card and am sure my sister will be calling and asking me to send her some "Thank You" cards.  She needs a bunch of thank you cards to send to her friends and neighbors for their help.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Hope you will have a wonderful day!

I'm finally BACK....

I'm finally back home and am so glad to be stamping again.  I'm so sorry to be totally gone from my blog for a month.  I didn't intend to be absent for the entire time but just couldn't find the time to make any projects except helping my sister in Ontario, Canada.

About a month ago my sister had an accident and broke both of her arms and cut her forehead.  She was taken by an ambulance and was hospitalized for 4 days.  My brother-in-law called me to tell me about her accident.  For two days I could not talk to my sister and felt terrible and helpless knowing she was in a lot of pain so I rescheduled my workshops one week early and went to Canada to take care of her and my "cute" nieces.  I am happy to say my sister is recovering pretty well and has managed to do things better on her own and the girls are on a summer break so that they can help her.

While I was there, my parents also came from Japan so I got to spend time with them too.  I also enjoyed crafting with my nieces a little bit but I got sick due to a change of weather (I think) and couldn't finish the "never-ending card" I was teaching them how to make!!!  When I left Sequim, it was so cold here but it was really hot over there in Ontario and my body couldn't quite adjust well.

One thing I learned while I was doing their laundry......the reason why we have "Tempting Turquoise" in our Stampin' Up! color collections.  Having boys I just don't use that color so much but found out that the girls love it.  I had never seen so many loads of laundry in pink and blue!!!  Plus my nieces change their clothes 10 times a day!!!!!  I'm glad now I have boys, eh:)

Well, I hesitated to leave my sister but am really blessed to know that she is surrounded by many kind friends who'd do anything for her.  So I think she will be fine.  Oh, my brother-in-law gave me a nickname.  Can you guess?  It's Cinderella!!!  Love it!!!
