Faux Frame Card - Field Flowers

Hi there!  Today's project is one of the cards we are creating at my Card Club this month.  I found this "Faux Frame" technique in the Stampin' Success Magazine I receive as one of the demonstrator benefits from Stampin' Up! and gave it a try.

I love receiving the Stampin' Success Magazines from Stampin' Up!  It's always packed with new techniques, tips and ideas that I get inspired by and I share those inspirations in my monthly Scrapbooking and Card Clubs.  If you are looking for more techniques/ideas and wish to be part of my monthly clubs, please contact me for more details.  I am in the process of offering another Card Club in the daytime.  I do have a few spots available in my Tuesday Night Card Club (the third Tuesday of the month) and Scrapbooking Club (the first Monday night of the month) at this time.

Here is a close-up photo for you.  Isn't it beautiful?  This card makes me HAPPY!!!  I added some Dazzling Diamonds in the center of the flower.  I hope you can see the sparkles.

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a fantastic day!!!

Mitten Punch Tulip Card

Happy Monday!!!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Here is another project we did in my Ink Pad Club this month.  Isn't it cute?

These tulips and leaves are created using the Mitten Punch from the Holiday Catalog.  I heat-embossed the tulips with the Clear Emboss Powder to give a little more shinning effect.  I really like the result!!!  Do you know you can also create butterfly wings and scoops of ice cream, plus the punched thumb for a leaf with this Mitten Punch???  What a great idea!!!!

Here is the update on my workshop schedule for this week.  Please let me know if you are interested in attending any of the workshop.  Space is limited.

Stampin' Up! Tacoma Regional Sharing - Part 3

Happy Friday!!!  Here is a pretty gift box I created for my presentation at Tacoma Regional.  As I write this post, I am trying to remember how I made this box....since I don't have it any more!!!  I think Stampin' Up! took it back to the corporate office.

So the base of this box is two die-cut pieces of the Petal Cone Bigz L Die.  You will need to cut off the point part in order to assemble into a box like this.  I stamped the snowflake images randomly on the card stock in the Illuminate Glimmer ink before putting it together.

I die cut some flowers with the Fun Flowers Bigz L Die using the Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP and Cherry Cobbler card stock.  I then took the card stock flowers and embossed with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder.  I applied the Illuminate Glimmer Ink to the embossed flowers to add a luminescent shimmer to pop up the embossed images.  I also embellished with the Scalloped Tulle Ribbon.  Aren't they beautiful???

Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Stampin' Up! Tacoma Regional Sharing - Part 2

Here is a step-up card of my yesterday's card.  For this card I focused on other ways to use the Illuminate Glimmer Ink instead of taking a stamp to the pad and then stamp on a piece of card stock.

The Illuminate Glimmer Ink is a pigment ink so I heat-embossed the sentiment below the tree with the Cherry Cobbler Emboss Powder and it really popped out!!!

The background embossed piece has a shimmery effect from the ink.  I took the Illuminate Glimmer Ink Pad and tapped gently all over the embossed piece.  You can also do this by using a stamping sponge or sponge dauber.

Here is another way to apply the Illuminate ink to an embossed piece for a different look.  Instead of applying the ink to your embossed paper, try this technique.  Open your embossing folder and then apply the ink to one side of the embossing folder.  Place a piece of paper inside and run it through your Big Shot.  You will experience different results by the amount of the ink you apply to the embossing folder and also the side of embossing folder you apply the ink to.

Did I tell you this card is an easel card?  I LOVE it when you can change an ordinary card to more unique one by simply folding one section of card front and adhering a piece of card stock to it!!!

Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a good day!!!

Stampin' Up! Tacoma Regional Sharing - Part 1

A couple of weeks ago I received a phone call from Carrie Cudney from Stampin' Up! Corporate Office and was asked to be one of the demonstrator presenters at Tacoma Regional which was held on September 29th.  At first, I didn't realize who I was actually talking to on the phone and thought I was talking to someone from the SU Demonstrator Support.  For some reason I thought there was a problem with my registration for the event.  But then all the sudden her name clicked my brain!!!  I could not believe I was talking to CARRIE CUDNEY who I admire so much for her amazing creativity and everything she does!!!

So the next four days I created several projects using the new Illuminate Glimmer Ink.  If you don't know where to find this new ink pad, you can find it on page 23 of the Holiday Catalog.  This card was the first project I shared on stage.  It's really simple and easy to make AND it's so BEAUTIFUL!!!

Here are some features that I've found using the Illuminate Glimmer Ink Pad:
  • similar to VersaMark ink pad
  • add a luminescent shimmer to stamped images
  • watermark ink for tone-on-tone shimmer stamping
  • pigment ink - great for heat embossing
  • works best when stamped on a darker card stock

Now take a look at this card.  Can you see the difference between the first and this card?  It's two step stamping.  First I stamped the solid tree image on Midnight Muse card stock and then stamped the outlined tree image over the solid tree image to give a little more deeper impression of the tree.

Here's the side by side photo.  I think these cards are easy enough to mass produce.  Don't you???

I am happy to say now that I'm glad I did it and felt very honored to be part of the event even though I think I was more nervous than the class presentations at Convention this summer.  Just because I was by myself on stage in front of more than 700 people for 10 minutes and didn't have my demo friends Jill and Cynthia next to me......!!!

Thank You, Carrie!!!

Always Amazing Shelli Gardner, Cofounder and CEO

Thank you for stopping by today.  I will post more projects from my Regional presentation so come back again!  Have a wonderful day!!!

Don't forget....there are some spots still available at my tomorrow's workshop.   We will be using the Illuminate Glimmer Ink Pad on one of the projects.
