I was planning to post my new project today but have to wait till tomorrow.....I am buried with some "over due" paperwork today. Not happy with myself..... But I am also feeling lucky! I am done with our family Christmas cards this year - it's not even December yet!!! Let me tell you about our Christmas card tradition...... Before I became a SU demonstrator, my husband and I picked the best four photos of the year for our Christmas cards and made them on our computer. Ever since I became a SU demonstrator, this tradition sort of stopped and Larry has not been happy with me. So about a week ago I told him about my plan on this year's Christmas cards, he was very skeptical. I started working from scratch using MDS 2 and within a few hours I was done. I ordered them late last night through our professional printing service. During the order process, I found out I could get the $25 hostess dollars by adding $12 worth of other items. So I added 2 packs of card stock which I really needed to order anyway. I totally forgot that MDS purchases qualify for the hostess benefits!!! AND I even got the demonstrator discounts and I will get additional earnings (it's called "volume rebates) later too. WOW!!! It's too good to be true. The best part is I didn't have to print our Christmas cards this year and they will come "scored" with envelopes from the professional printing service!!! Let me tell you Larry is happy too!!! I can't wait to get my order.....!!!
Speaking of the MDS, Stampin' Up! recommends that you submit your holiday print products by December 6th for regular shipping, December 10th for Second-Day Air, and December 11th for Next-Day Air to receive them by December 24th.
Thank you for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day!!!

Happy Monday Stampers! I hope you will enjoy these cards today. We created these unique cards in my monthly club workshops this month. I promised with the ladies that I'd post these cards since I created four samples using the Orchard Harvest DSP for the base of the card and some of them are slightly different from others depending on a pattern of the DSP. I did change a little bit for the Pear and Corn on the Cob images to accommodate the direction of the pattern.
The base of card is a "gatefold" card with two top corners cut out and then adhered to the card inside. Here is the photo of my card base using this striped pattern shown above:
Here are the measurements and cutting/scoring guide on the card base:
- Paper Size - 5 1/2" x 12"
- Score at 2", 4", 8" and 10" on the 12" side
- Mark at 2 -3/4" from the bottom on each side and 4" and 8" score lines on top in pencil.
- On your paper trimmer, position your 2 3/4" and 4" marks on the groove and cut off the corner. Repeat with the other side.
- Tip - Make sure to cut out your TOP corners!!!
I didn't want to waste the corner pieces so adhered them on the inside of my card. You can also adhere them matching the straight line on the bottom for a different look.
Here are the photos of my other sample cards:
I was amazed how this "THANKS A BUNCH" stamp came alive when it was heat-embossed in gold. I think it's best to heat emboss this particular stamp to show off its beauty!!! The stamped image is die cut with the Window Frames Framelits and then layered with two other pieces. The Early Espresso Framelits piece is embossed with the Adorning Accents Folder (small hearts). The layered piece is then adhered to the band so that it easily slides off the card. I wrapped a pretty ribbon to give more decorative look to the band.
Thank you for stopping by today. Have a great day!!!

Hi Stampers! I LOVE this card!!! I saw a similar card in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog (see page 21) and had to try it out. I did change a little bit by adding a decorative edge with the Large Scallop Edgelits and one of the Delicate Designs Embossing Folders. I LOVE this color combo (Summer Starfruit and Cherry Cobbler)!!!
The beautiful button embellishment shown on the sample card in the book has a leaf stamp image on the bottom of the button. Since I don't have the stamp set, I made my own creation with the Boho Blossoms and the Bird Builder Punches.
This Come to Bethlehem Stamp Set is part of the Online Extravaganza Sale and is discounted at 50% off regular price until November 28th. WOW!!!

Hi Stampers! Here is one of the projects we did in my Card Club workshops this month. Isn't it so pretty?
Here's a close-up photo of the snowflake die-cuts using the Snow Flurry Die. We die cut two snowflakes (1 small and 1 medium) using the Silver Glimmer Paper and then colored them in two different colors (Gumball Green and Primrose Petals refills) with sponge daubers. You need to let them dry a little bit or you can use your heat tool to dry them if you wish. The bottom snowflake image is the new Bold Snowflake Single Stamp (#132338) which is available through January 2, 2013. Did you know this Bold Snowflake stamp coordinates with our Blossom Punch (#125603)? LOVE it!!!!
Here is a photo of the card inside. Hope you can see how the gift card is stored tight in the card. I promised with the ladies that I'd post the measurements on the card holder here on my blog.....so here it goes:
Gift Card Holder Measurements:
- Baja Breeze card stock (base) - cut to 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 3", 5 1/2" and 8"
- DSP (Snow Festival DSP) - 2 3/4" x 4"
- Whisper White card stock - 3" x 3" (Snowflake stamp), 2 1/4" x 3/4" (sentiment)
- Gumball Green card stock - 2 3/8" x 7/8" (sentiment layer)
- Baja Breeze card stock - 2 1/2" Circle Punch
I hope this photo of my template will help you how to fold your card and punch an opening for your gift card with the Word Window Punch. To make it easier you need to mark the width of your gift card in pencil. Fold your card base in half and insert your Word Window Punch only half way in and then punch out starting at one pencil mark and then moved to the other pencil mark. You will have a small notch still left in the middle, so go back with your punch and punch it out.
This is how the BACK of your card base should look like before securing the opening. Take a strip of Sticky Strip and apply it along the 3" score line. That's the only place you will need to apply any adhesive to secure the opening; otherwise, your gift card will not slide in.
This is a very simple and easy gift card holder and is super quick to mass produce for the holiday gifts. I made one with the Coffee Mug Stamp from the Scentsational Season Stamp Set and die cut with the Holiday Collection Framelits. This is so perfect to add a Starbucks gift card inside!!!
Don't forget the Online Extravaganza Sale is still going through Nov. 28th. Remember even though it's called an "Online" but you can contact me to place your order. This sale is available on all order types (customer, workshop, demonstrator and online).
