Halloween Treat Mason Jar

Happy Monday!  I had a lot of fun creating this project with a Mason Jar which I spray painted with black paint the other day when I found a chance to paint in this crazy wet weather.  As I prepare this post, a storm is coming through here in the Pacific Northwest and I am hoping we will not lose power anytime soon!!!  My dogs are not even wanting to go outside:)  It's really crazy here!!!

I have to give credit to my Up, Up-line Carol who gave me an idea of painting a Mason Jar in black and then filling it with some treats.  Isn't it adorable???

I filled my jar with 5 Hersey Nuggets; each of them is wrapped with a strip of the Witches' Brew DSP (1-1/4" x 3-1/2") and two of them are embellished with 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon.

Aren't these bats cute?  They even have a Hersey Nugget in the center of their body and the bat wings are super shiny with the Stampin' Up! Ultrafine Glitter.  So cute!!!

It's easy and quick to create.  We used two pieces (4" x 6") of Coaster Board (#129392) for the front and back covers which are adhered with Birthday Basics DSP pieces and then we added some card stock pages.  We had fun embellishing each page with stamps, punches, die-cutting and embossing on Big Shot.

We even created a small pocket for journaling or you can even put a gift card instead.  FUN!!!

Another Thank You Photopolymer Card

Happy Friday!!!  Here is a simple Thank You card I created using the Another Thank You Photopolymer Stamp Set.  I LOVE Stampin' Up's photopolymer stamps!  They are easy to use and entirely transparent for perfect placement!!

Before creating this card, I gave myself a challenge to come up with a card using the Background Builders Stamp Set and the new Small Scallop Rotary Cutting Blade that I had purchased recently but hadn't used yet (does it sound familiar to you???).  I'm happy to tell you that I have found the Small Scallop Rotary Cutting Blade super easy to use.  I do have one important tip for you though that you will need to change your Cutting Mat (make sure to use the non-grooved side of your Cutting Mat) to use with Stampin' Up! Rotary Blades.

Supply List
Stamps - Another Thank You Photopolymer (133454), Background Builders
Paper - Whisper White, Eastern Elegance DSP
Ink - VersaMark, Coastal Cabana
Tools and Accessories - White Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Brayer, Small Scallop Rotary Cutting Blade, Candy Dots (Neutral Collection), Bitty Butterfly Punch, Basic Rhinestones

Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Halloween "Ghosting" Treat Card

Here are the sample cards and envelopes I created for my Card Club workshops.  We are learning a new technique called "ghosting."  Isn't it perfect for Halloween???

It is easy and fun to create this ghosting effect.  Follow these steps to find out how I made mine:

  1. Stamp the bat image repeatedly in Whisper White Craft ink on Whisper White card stock.  Allow the ink to dry.  (Use a Heat Tool to speed the drying process.)
  2. Ink the Brayer by rolling it over the Smoky Slate Classic Pad.  Roll the Brayer over the stamped bats.  Re-ink the Brayer and repeat as many times as needed, rolling the Brayer back and forth horizontally and vertically, until the card stock is evenly inked.
  3. Wipe the excess ink from the bats using a paper towel.
  4. (Optional)  Stamp the bat image in Basic Black ink slightly offset from the ghost bat images, using a Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement.

The card base has a pocket on the bottom to hold a Ghiradelli treat.

We are also making coordinating envelopes using the new Envelope Punch Board.   SO CUTE!!!
