Shine On Explosion Scrapbook Class

NEW CLASS ALERT!!!  I am excited to announce my new "Shine On Explosion Scrapbook" class today.  Ever since I came across Jessica Winter's project during the Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop in March, I just had to give it a try.

Here is a picture of the inside of my explosion scrapbook.   As you can see, I changed mine a little bit to make it simpler than Jessica's for my class.

2015-2016 Retiring List is HERE!

It's that time again!  Stampin' Up! is getting ready to retire stamps and accessories from the both Annual and Occasions Catalogs.  As sad as it is to see these products go, they are making room for new exciting products coming out in early June!

  • Retiring products have discounts of up to 50%
  • Retiring products will only be available until May 31, or while supplies last.

Rose Wonder Slider Card

Here is one of the projects we are making at my Card Club workshops this month.  Isn't it so pretty?

The slider is layered with 3 pieces of card stock (Shimmery White, Sahara Sand, and Whisper White) and then is punched with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch for the ribbon slot.  I stamped the rose image on a Shimmery White card stock in Archival Basic Black and then water colored with the Aqua Painter using the Bermuda Bay and Cucumber Crush ink pads.

Slider Paper Measurements:
  • Shimmery White (front panel) - 3 3/4" x 5 1/4"
  • Sahara Sand (middle panel) 3 7/8" x 5 3/8"
  • Whisper White (back panel) - 3 3/4" x 5 1/4"
To make the base of the holder I cut Sahara Sand Card stock to 4" x 11" and then scored at 5 1/2" on the 11" side.  Having the card base open, I positioned my rose diecut on the card front and then carefully tucked the excess portions of the diecut under the card front.  Then I flipped the card around and applied Snail Adhesive to secure the diecut along the edge of my card inside.  Then I applied more Snail Adhesive to completely glue the inside of my card.  You could use only a half base (4" x 5 1/2") for your card base but I wanted to hide the excess diecuts and adhesive by using a full card base.

This is optional but I applied the Clear Wink of Stella to the entire rose diecut before securing it to the card base.  It's hard to see it in this photo but it really added a beautiful look to the card.

Supply List
Stamps - Rose Wonder
Paper - Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Shimmery White
Ink - Archival Basic Black, Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay
Accessories and Tools - Aqua Painter, Clear Wink of Stella, Bermuda Bay Ribbon, Curvy Corner Trip Punch
Big Shot - Rose Garden Thinlints Dies

A Nice Cuppa Teabag & Cookie Holder

Hello Stampers!  Here is an adorable Teabag and Cookie Holder we made at my recent Big Shot Class featuring the A Nice Cuppa Stamp Set and the coordinating Cups & Kettle Framelits Dies in the Occasions Catalog.

There is a cello bag filled with cookies in the middle of this holder and there are two pockets, one in the front and the other in the back.  The front pocket has a small note tacked in and there is a teabag in the back pocket.  It's so fun to make!

Supply List
  • Designer Series Paper (12" x 8 1/2")
  • 4" x 6" Cello Bag
  • Ribbon
  • Simply Scored Scoring Tool
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Hole Punch
  • Deco Labels Framelits Dies
  • Big Shot
Scoring Instructions for the Holder:
  • The Shorter Edge (8 1/2") - Score at 2 1/2" and 6" using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool or Paper Trimmer with the scoring blade.
  • The Longer Edge (12") - Score at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 5", 7", 9 1/2" and 10 3/4".
Cutting and Folding Instructions:

Cut off the 2 1/2" squares from each corner as shown above.

Fold in the two top center corners as shown above and repeat for the bottom center corners.

Keep holding as shown above using the Bone Folder.

Fold at the 1 1/4" score line and adhere this section using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue (or Snail Adhesive) as shown above.  Repeat for the other side.

To make a decorative edge place your paper on your Magnetic Platform and then place your largest die on the folded top section as shown above.  Notice that the bottom edge of my die is under the paper so that this section won't be cut.

Make sure that both side edges of your paper are aligned equally and the top arched edge should be aligned with the top edge of your paper.

Your die-cut piece should look like this.  Repeat for the other side.  To make this into a holder fold at the 5" and 7" score lines and then punch two holes at the top for the ribbon.  Make sure to have enough room between the holes so that your cello bag will be placed between the holes.

Fill your cello bag with treats of your choice and place it in your holder.  Thread your ribbon through the holes and make a bow to secure.  Place a teabag in the back pocket.  To finish my holder I adhered a Teapot die-cut in the front of the holder and then placed a note card in the front pocket.  What a fun project!!!  Hope you will give it a try!!!
