Over the Moon Triangle Pop-Up Card Trio - July Card Club

Hello everyone!  Here is one of the projects we did at my Card Clubs this month featuring the Over the Moon Stamp Set.  Aren't these cards so cute?  Ever since one of my downline members shared a photo of a similar card with our team, I knew I had to make one.

I had so much fun designing this card!  All the cows are colored with Stampin' Blends.  The triangle sections of the cards are stamped using the two small solid patterned stamps in Memento Black.  I placed both of stamps on a clear-mount block for quick stamping.

For the background I wanted to make a flower field, so I used the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set for the grass and flower images with 2-step stamping.   I also used the new Above the Clouds Stamp Set for the clouds.  Make sure to use a Stampin' Pierce Mat (126199) for better impressions.  As you can see, this card can be flat so that you can put it in a Stampin' Up! Medium Size Envelope.

Here is how I made the card base:

  1. Start with a 8" x 8" Whisper White Card Stock, score at 4" and then turn your paper and score at 4" again.
  2. Cut the bottom half section at 4" up to the center of the card base where the two score lines meet.
  3. For the top triangle sections score between score lines from the left to the top and then the right to the top.
  4. Fold your card stock as shown below.

The Abstract Impressions Stamp Set coordinates with the Springtime Impressions Dies so the pretty floral die-cut you see under the pop-up section is from the die set.  I just used a 4" x 4" Rococo Rose Card Stock to die cut the corner section of the die.  After die cutting, I trimmed off an extra portion with my Paper Snips.

It's fairly easy to make a pop-up.  Starting with a piece of 3" x 6" card stock (Pear Pizzazz used here), score at 3" and fold in half.  Place one of the Layering Scallop Circles on the folded card stock exposing 3 scallop circles on fold (so that this section will not be cut) and run it through your die cut machine.  Now fold the top circle in half (valley fold) matching the scallops.  Die cut a 3" x 3" card stock with the same Layering Scallop Circles.  Adhere the back of this piece to the valley hold half circle (outer circle) with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755).  Use Dimensionals to adhere this to your card as shown.  Tip:  Make sure to use Dimensionals to adhere your sentiment piece so that that your cow sections will stand as shown.

I hope you can find my instructions helpful.  Since I've received many requests for this card, I'm planning on offering another class so stay tuned!  Make sure to let me know if you are interested!

Wish For It All Cupcake Card - NEW Stamps & Treats Class

Hello everyone!  We are back from our trip of a lifetime to the beautiful Greek Isles!  Thank you to all who support me in my Stampin' Up! business!  We had a wonderful time and felt so blessed throughout our trip.  I had great visits with our fellow demonstrators all over the world and got awesome ideas that I can't wait to share with you!  Thank you again!!!

Now let's get back to stamping!!!

Here is one of the cards we will be making at my new Stamps & Treats Class this month. This class is held monthly and is similar to my previous Big Shot Class that I offered last 10 years.  Since we do not carry any Big Shot products, I made some changes to the class structure.  It does not require a monthly membership.  The class fee is $10 per person but will be waived with a minimum order of $10 (before shipping and tax).  We make 2 projects and they are fairly easy.

This card was made using the Wish For It All Bundle  (Wish For It All Stamp Set & Doily Wishes Dies).  It's so cute!  Trust me, it looks a lot better in person!  I heat embossed the sprinkles in gold and the little flower is also heat embossed in white.  I was very impressed with the Doily Wishes Dies for its quality and pretty design.  I've made 4 different cards using the bundle and they all look totally different.  Possibilities are endless!

Magnolia Lane DSP One Sheet Wonder Trio - June Card Club

Hello everyone!  I am super excited to share my June Card Club project today!  My inspiration for this project came from Ronda Wade, who is an amazing Stampin' Up! demonstrator, and I believe she is a mentor/trainer for many demonstrators.   She recently shared her project on Facebook Live and I just had to try her idea.  I've always wanted to make multiple projects using only one sheet of our designer series paper.  I've created many projects using the One Sheet Wonder Technique to create many cards but I thought this was a great idea to make a card with a matching envelope, and a beautiful gift box!

Thanks to Stampin' Up!'s new offering of Magnolia Lane Bulk DSP, I was able to put this project together easily for my Card Club workshops this month!  I am super excited and hope you like my project!!!  And if you live in the neighborhood of Sequim, Port Angeles, Port Townsend or other wonderful places on the Olympic Peninsula, Washington, I hope you can join us at one of my Card Club workshops this month.  Use the link below to register!

Gift Box
I love this box!!!  It is so pretty and super easy to make!  The finished size is 5-1/2" x 3-1/2" x 2".  To make this box you need to cut your DSP to 12" x 9-1/2" and score as follows:
  • 9-1/2" side - 2" and 7-1/2"
  • 12" side - 1", 3", 6-1/2" and 8-1/2"
To assemble your box, follow the following simple steps:
  1. Cut off the small corner section of 1" x 2" on both sides.  This becomes a front flap that overlaps to the front of your box making it easier to stay shut under the rectangle embellishment.
  2. On the 12" side of your paper,  cut the 2" sections (up to where the two score lines meet) starting at 3", 6-1/2" and 8-1/2".  Repeat on the other side.
  3. Use Tombow Liquid Glue or Tear & Tape to assemble your box.

Card and Envelope
To make a card and an envelope, use the left over DSP (2-1/2" x 12") from the box.  For the card cut your DSP to 2-1/2" x 5".  Use the rest of your DSP to adhere to the envelope flap with Tombow Liquid Glue and trim off the excess.  Stamp the Magnolia flower image on your envelope if you like!

My card design is different from Ronda's card and she used a different stamp set and DSP for her projects.  I kept my card very simple and clean.  I love the silver foil flower accent behind the sentiment.  And the new 5/8" Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon is absolutely beautiful!  No wonder it's been so popular and is already hard to order!  The Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins are perfect to add small embellishments.  My Whisper White layer is embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder for additional texture.  And don't let me forget to tell you about one of my favorites from the new catalog - the Stitched Nested Labels Die Set!!!  This is a must-have item in my opinion!!!

Card Measurements:

  • Petal Pink - 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
  • Basic Black - 3-7/8" x 5-1/8"
  • Whisper White - 3-3/4" x 5"
  • Magnolia Lane DSP - 2-1/2" x 5"

NEW 3D Embossing Folder Plate Now Available

The new 3D Embossing Folder Plate (item 149658) is now available to order!  It's designed to work with our new-style 3D embossing folders (which are thinner than our old-style Dynamic folders).

How to Use the New Plate

The new plate makes up the difference in measurement between our old-style Dynamic Folders and our new-style 3D Folders in 21 mm gap machines (similar to the machine we used to offer).  The 3D Embossing Folder Plate replaces the Standard Cutting Pads in your 3D embossing folder sandwich for continued high-quality emboss results.

To create your emboss sandwich:

  • use a die-cutting & embossing machine platform as a base; no matter which machine you are using, use the standard platform which comes with your machine.
  • Use the 3D Embossing Folder with your paper in the middle.
  • Then use the 3D Embossing Folder Plate on top.

  • Given the differences in machines and platforms, you may still have to add a shim to get your desired embossing results.  You can also spritz your paper before embossing to maximize your embossing impressions.
  • Without the new 3D Embossing Folder Plate, you will need to use several shims with the Standard Cutting Pad in your 3D embossing folder sandwich depending on the die-cutting & embossing machine you use.  Most machines will need between three to five sheets of cardstock to shim.  Please be careful in how you shim; start out with fewer sheets, then add sheets to get your desired results.

Make sure to add this new 3D Embossing Folder Plate to your order today!  Available NOW!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

Best Catch Polished Stone Technique Cards & Baskets - May Big Shot Class

Hello everyone!  I have super fun projects to share with you today!  We will be making these at my Big Shot Class next week.  Please read the class information below and register online using the link if you are interested in attending.   Don't wait too long because it's already popular!!!
Best Catch Polished Stone Technique Card
Have you tried this cool technique called "Polished Stone" using the Stampin' Up! Glossy White Cardstock (144240)?  This technique has been around for years.  Since the Glossy White Cardstock is sadly retiring soon, I thought I'd demo it for the last time.  If you don't have any, I highly recommend to STOCK UP!!!

Supply List for Polished Stone Technique:

  • Stampin' Up! Glossy White Cardstock
  • Classic Re-inkers (Pear Pizzazz & Crumb Cake)
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • 2 Cotton Balls

Step-By-Step Instructions:

  1. Take one cotton ball and soak with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Add about 4 drops of Pear Pizzazz Re-inker and 2 drops of Crumb Cake Re-inker onto your soaked cotton ball.
  3. Dab the cotton ball over your Glossy White Cardstock.  The rubbing alcohol will cause the re-inker to blend together.
  4. Take the second cotton ball (clean) and dab all over your cardstock to pick up any excess ink.
  5. Allow your cardstock to dry.
  6. Stamp your image with StazOn Ink.

Aren't these adorable?  I was inspired by one of the projects featured in the Stampin' Success Magazine that Stampin' Up! demonstrators get quarterly - one of the great perks Stampin' Up! offers. I sure look forward to getting mine every quarter!

I love the way these baskets turned out!  They are so fun to make.  Having the entire basket embossed with the Basket Weave Embossing Folder make them more dimensional look.  I also sponged the entire basket with Soft Suede Ink for a rustic look.  I really like the Burlap Ribbon accent too.
