Hello everyone! I am super excited to share my June Card Club project today! My inspiration for this project came from Ronda Wade, who is an amazing Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, and I believe she is a mentor/trainer for many demonstrators. She recently shared her project on Facebook Live and I just had to try her idea. I’ve always wanted to make multiple projects using only one sheet of our designer series paper. I’ve created many projects using the One Sheet Wonder Technique to create many cards but I thought this was a great idea to make a card with a matching envelope, and a beautiful gift box!
Thanks to Stampin’ Up!’s new offering of Magnolia Lane Bulk DSP, I was able to put this project together easily for my Card Club workshops this month! I am super excited and hope you like my project!!! And if you live in the neighborhood of Sequim, Port Angeles, Port Townsend or other wonderful places on the Olympic Peninsula, Washington, I hope you can join us at one of my Card Club workshops this month. I love this box!!! It is so pretty and super easy to make! The finished size is 5-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ x 2″. To make this box you need to cut your DSP to 12″ x 9-1/2″ and score as follows:
- 9-1/2″ side – 2″ and 7-1/2″
- 12″ side – 1″, 3″, 6-1/2″ and 8-1/2″
To assemble your box, follow the following simple steps:
- Cut off the small corner section of 1″ x 2″ on both sides. This becomes a front flap that overlaps to the front of your box making it easier to stay shut under the rectangle embellishment.
- On the 12″ side of your paper, cut the 2″ sections (up to where the two score lines meet) starting at 3″, 6-1/2″ and 8-1/2″. Repeat on the other side.
- Use Tombow Liquid Glue or Tear & Tape to assemble your box.
Card and Envelope
To make a card and an envelope, use the left over DSP (2-1/2″ x 12″) from the box. For the card cut your DSP to 2-1/2″ x 5″. Use the rest of your DSP to adhere to the envelope flap with Tombow Liquid Glue and trim off the excess. Stamp the Magnolia flower image on your envelope if you like!
My card design is different from Ronda’s card and she used a different stamp set and DSP for her projects. I kept my card very simple and clean. I love the silver foil flower accent behind the sentiment. And the new 5/8″ Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon is absolutely beautiful! No wonder it’s been so popular and is already hard to order! The Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins are perfect to add small embellishments. My Whisper White layer is embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder for additional texture. And don’t let me forget to tell you about one of my favorites from the new catalog – the Stitched Nested Labels Die Set!!! This is a must-have item in my opinion!!!
- Petal Pink – 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″
- Basic Black – 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
- Whisper White – 3-3/4″ x 5″
- Magnolia Lane DSP – 2-1/2″ x 5″
